This site is a result of some folks there wanting a place to discuss problem posters at GOC. I made a request there to link a forum so we could discuss some problems the board was having and the ownership wasnt interested so a fellow started this site. Later 45acp took it over and expanded/improved it and thats where we are today.

i think a lot of the original people here came from goc. i know a lot of the same people still advertise on here and goc, many with the same handles.

I personally do not have a problem with the GOC site, especially since they started clamping down on complainers who post ads cutting other users. I absolutely hated the complaining and had just about given up on using GOC. Now that the complaints are limited, I search through it regularly. In addition to GOC, I search several other classified sites as well. I am always looking for that good deal on one of the guns on my wish list. (I don't know if there is reason to, but like 10mmRx, I don't use the same user ID on GOC that I use on here.)
I want the Tennessee Gun Club site to be viewed as a companion to classified sites like GOC and Armslist, etc. You cannot talk guns and ask questions (dumb or otherwise) on any of them.I added and updated the Classifieds to this site as a service to those who want to use it. If our Classifieds grow,
we could have the best of both worlds, talk and trading in one place with one login.

Thanks for the background info! I've used GOC 2 times and sold the guns for the amount that I wanted (not the amount asked!) both times! Never bought one there.
